If you notice nothing else, please note how many times the number ONE appears in the delta column below. The number ONE signifies an adjacent number pair in the corresponding lotto number, and apparently it's the most common number conjugation found there. Do you think this information can be used to win the lotto?

A few apparent conclusions from an analysis of the delta numbers above:

A delta of 1 will appear in any given six-number pick about 63% of the time.
A delta number higher than 15 occurs in a given pick slightly less than half the time.
Two such large delta numbers occur in one lotto number only 3% of the time.
A lotto number composed of deltas all below 10 only occurs about 4% of the time.

The arrows I placed above are where runs of at least four consecutive numbers occurred in the lotto numbers. Runs like this, especially occurring so close together, may be evidence of poor mixing of the balls in the lotto machine.

Winning numbers from the Michigan lotto were used for this page, but data from other state lottos that I have tested with my system behaved in a similar way. The Analysis Lotto software is an ideal tool for storing, charting and analyzing data such as this.
